Extrusion Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization
- Trouble shoot, identify and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine
- Provides innovative solutions for production issues
- Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel
- Completes appropriate end of shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
- Able to inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects
- Observes all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines
- Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required
Requirements
- 1+ years' working in a manufacturing environment as an Extrusion Machine Operator
- Experience and willingness to work 12 hour rotating schedules including every other weekend
- Ability to show up for work prior to shift and be prepared to get the day going on time
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience working with Extrusion Machines
- Excellent communication skills, detailed record keeping per the prescribed frequency
- Analytical and math skills
- Ability to perform quality checks and have an understanding of production measurement tools
- Knowledge of product quality standards
- Comfortable wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard-nets, steel toed shoes/boots, ear protection and bump-caps when required
- Manual dexterity
Compensation
Starting rate of $21.85 - $27.60 an hour
Available Shift
7:00am - 7:00pm and 7:00pm - 7:00am
