Extrusion Operator

About the role

Graphic Packaging International Inc. is currently seeking extrusion operators for our Prosperity, SC facility located in Newberry County.

Job Duties

- Operate extruder to produce rolls that conform to all quality and profile specifications. - Responsible for accurately completing and processing all documents necessary for tracking extrusion operations. - Make process changes and roll changes. - Inspecting quality during the extrusion process and/or finished rolls. - Communicate pertinent information at shift change. - Understand and practice all safety procedures and rules. - Know the locations of and how to operate emergency stop buttons and fire extinguishers in your area. - Provide relief to other team members as necessary. - Follow standard operating procedures.

Physical attributes for the position

- Standing, walking most of your shift, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) carrying (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, visual acuity (Near and Far) - Grasping and gripping

Required Skills

- Must be at least 18 years old - Mechanical/Technical aptitude - Ability to read a tape measure to increments as small as a 1/32 or learn how to read a tape measure - Entry Level Computer skills - Ability to communicate clearly; written and verbally - Must be able to work additional hours (overtime) as needed - Reading computer screens or electronic devices
