Extrusion Maintenance Technician II 2nd Shift

About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant machinery and infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor when supplies are needed and require replenishment
• Develop and review standard operating procedures for maintenance personnel
• Ensure all maintenance work areas are clean and safe
• Understand and comply with quality and environmental management system principles
• Understand basic electrical concepts and use VOM and non-contact voltage testers
• Understand and operate various types of fasteners and lubricants
• Understand machine shop skills and safety protocols
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic valve configurations and operations
• Perform arc welding, brazing, soldering, cutting metal, and lifting heavy components
• Inspect and assemble/disassemble scaffolding
• Work in confined space conditions and handle hazardous waste
• Follow proper PPE and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Working towards or have an Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent past work experience
• Trained in LOTO, Electrical / Mechanical Safe Work Practices, Ladder Safety, CPR, Respiratory protection, Incipient stage fire response, Confined space entry, Fall protection, Enclosed spaces entry, Aerial lifts, PIT
• Basic PC skills
• Communication and time-management skills
• Customer focus
• Some heavy lifting required
