Responsibilities

  • Operation of the extrusion lines (plastic) without guidance or assistance
  • Material handling of the plastic stock
  • Proper release of plastic stock to production
  • Set up of extrusion lines and related equipment without guidance or assistance
  • Recording of extrusion log sheet
  • Daily maintenance of extruders (oil addition, cleaning of the line, etc.)
  • Development and maintain extruder set up sheets
  • Back up for Line Finisher and Finishing Operator
  • Working with supervisors in the development and processing of new parts
  • Clean-up and organization of work area
  • Compete assigned tasks including set-up of finishing equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Languages Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes from the salt bath or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
