Extraction Technician II
About the role
The Manufacturing Technician II will assist with the manufacturing of high-quality cannabis products in a laboratory and kitchen setting, along with cleaning and maintaining laboratory grade equipment, recording, and entering data in multiple forms, and associated tasks delegated by management.
The Manufacturing Technician II will be responsible for consistent, sanitary, and safe production of extracts adhering to company policies to successfully uphold quality control and consistent product production. The individual has the responsibility of formulating and manufacturing cannabinoid-based products and extracting and distillation of cannabinoids. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundational understanding of the processes involved and be willing to freely share knowledge with the team members as well as aid where needed.
Responsibilities
- Formulate batches based on prepared batch production records with alignment from Manufacturing Manager/Supervisor
- Aids in training and development of Technician I’s within the Manufacturing Team
- Oversee the filling and bottling of manufactured products and provide training to less experienced technicians
- Prepare biomass for solvent-based or solventless extraction and post-processing
- Adhere to specific quality control SOP’s regarding procedural operations and quality of product produced
- Identify unsafe scenarios as they pertain to the Manufacturing Department
- Perform daily safety inspections for all equipment being used, including extraction and distillation systems. Escalates concerns to Management
- Safe and effectively perform all methods of the cannabis extraction and refinement process practiced at the New Jersey facility as directed by Management, including but not limited to winterization, filtration, color remediation, ethanol recovery, solvent-based and solventless extraction, and distillation
- Comply with New Jersey facility SOPs and New Jersey State guidance on proper disposal methods for cannabis biomass and waste
- Manage high-stress situations with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Perform general routine maintenance on lab equipment - troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and regular data logging, escalating concerns to Management
- Wash and sanitize lab surfaces, glassware, equipment, and any other ancillary lab equipment
- Regularly update all logs including cleaning, maintenance, extraction, data, etc
- Maintain and log all data sheets for chemicals and products physically and digitally
- Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime as determined by process demands
- May help in other departments as needed

Skills To Be Successful
- Education and Experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in Extraction
- Previous experience in cannabis extraction and refinement required
- Demonstrated manufacturing and extraction knowledge including formulation, extraction, post-processing, etc
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Computers and Technology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficiency with inventory systems and office equipment

Schedule
Monday through Friday 7AM-3:30PM
Subject to change as business needs.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
- Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching
- Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects
- Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment
