Summary
The Extra Help Performer/Artist will perform a variety of duties related to live and recorded performance. This position requires the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently, with minimal supervision. The Performer/Artist may be asked to perform various artistic roles, including performer, designer, choreographer, director, music director, or stage manager as required by the Artistic Programs Director. This position requires regular attendance at rehearsals and participation in live or recorded performances. The Performer/Artist will also be required to attend planning and production meetings to ensure smooth operation of all performance-related activities. This position is on-call with irregular hours and evening, or weekend work may be required. No minimum number of hours are guaranteed for any pay period. The Performer/Artist must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and adaptable, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performance: Attend rehearsals and perform live in front of an audience or have their performance recorded for future viewings.
- Artistic Roles: Perform artistic roles such as designer (set, costumes, sound, lighting, etc.), choreographer, director, music director, stage manager, etc., as required by the Artistic Programs Director.
- Planning and Production Meetings: Attend planning and production meetings to discuss current and upcoming projects.
- Marketing and Communication: Provide information including written narrative, photos, and other relevant information about themselves as an artist and about their art form.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties related to preparing for performance as assigned by the Artistic Programs Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of relevant experience in live performance or recording
- Experience in various artistic roles such as designer, choreographer, director, music director, stage manager, etc.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
