Extra Help Law Clerk - District Attorney
About the role
This position is a temporary position with the District Attorneys Office. Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards include completion of at least one (1) year of full-time study in an accredited school of law, knowledge of legal principles, legal research methods, and the preparation of briefs and opinions, knowledge of county government functions and legal responsibilities, and the ability to analyze and apply legal principles, facts, evidence and precedents to legal problems, present statements of law, fact and argument clearly and logically in written and oral form, and maintain effective public relations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
- Assist in the drafting and review of legal briefs and opinions
- Support attorneys in the investigation and analysis of legal issues
- Prepare and present legal arguments in court
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve legal matters
Requirements
- Completion of at least one (1) year of full-time study in an accredited school of law
- Knowledge of legal principles, legal research methods, and the preparation of briefs and opinions
- Knowledge of county government functions and legal responsibilities
- Ability to analyze and apply legal principles, facts, evidence and precedents to legal problems
- Ability to present statements of law, fact and argument clearly and logically in written and oral form
- Ability to maintain effective public relations
