About the role

This Extra Help position involves journeyman wireman work, including running conduit, pulling wire, and terminating equipment. Responsibilities include planning jobs, performing installations, and documenting changes.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman-level electrical work, including conduit installation, wire pulling, and equipment termination.
• Plan and execute electrical installations.
• Document changes and updates to electrical systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years (60 months) of actual work experience in the electrical trade, including apprenticeship or vocational training.
• Experience sufficient to qualify as a journeyman Electrician.
• Must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of hire (valid Illinois Driver’s License or state ID required).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

About Extra Help Positions

Extra Help employees are appointed to fulfill casual or emergent needs within the university. Workdays and hours vary based on departmental requirements. Payment is hourly, based on actual hours worked, and these positions do not include SIUE benefits, holiday pay, or paid sick/vacation leave.
