About the role

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 company in the corrugated packaging and white paper business with approximately 15,000 team members across more than 100 U.S. locations. This entry-level manufacturing position involves operating routine production machinery in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operates routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided
• Carry out routine activities that produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
• Maintains logs and records of units produced
• Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area
• Follow safety regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• Two years of work experience required
• Ability to work entry-level jobs in an industrial environment
• Willing and able to work an unpredictable 12-hour shift schedule including days, nights, and weekends that can change with very little notice to cover vacancies
• Willing and able to work overtime and work on most holidays
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machinery
• Fundamental understanding of or ability to quickly learn production equipment

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial work such as manufacturing, logging, or construction is a plus but not required

Compensation

• Starting salary: $27.40 per hour
• Annual bonus based upon achievement of plant performance metrics

Schedule
