ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Fulfills all assigned duties under the guidance of the Varsity Head Coach.
- Coaches and directs student-athletes to achieve high levels of skill, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
- Maintains knowledge of District policies and OSSAA policies.
- Exhibits loyalty to the Varsity Head Coach and supports OPS sports programs.
- Assists in instruction and demonstrates necessary skills and techniques for individual and team success.
- Plans and sets up activities, practices, and games.
- Maintains records and paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student-athletes.
- Enforces discipline policies and promotes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles.
- Travels with student-athletes on the team bus to and from games/events.
- Ensures compliance with medical and safety requirements.
- Secures and manages confidential student records and inquiries professionally.
- Represents the school and District in interactions with students, parents, community, and staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate.
- Certificates as determined by OSSAA.
- Commercial Drivers Licence (CDL) preferred.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant rules, regulations, policies, and laws.
- Expertise in Oklahoma State Department of Education regulations related to curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to follow district policies and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Able to manage confidential information.
