Schedule
Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Contributes to and helps manage relevant budgets for assigned projects
- Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of communications strategies and tactics
- Develops and executes communications strategies that position the organization, its clinicians and executives as national leaders in health care
- Manages a variety of beats/service lines and identifies proactive stories for traditional media, social media, video, or other storytelling opportunities
- Collaborates with internal communications, video, and social media teams to plan and execute storytelling opportunities
- Plans and coordinates media events, including speech writing, media strategy, and other external stakeholder communications
- Maintains strong relationships with relevant local and national media to enhance brand visibility
- Manages day-to-day proactive and reactive media requests to address inquiries and promote positive coverage
- Maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure communications strategies support business and inter-departmental goals
- Counsels executives with issues management and supports the communications team with the development of messaging and planning
- Analyzes audience research (media, social media, and other vehicles) and adjusts communications tactics accordingly
- Provides strategic communications counsel to executives, physicians, and colleagues
- Develops and implements risk management strategies for media relations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field [Required]
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, media/public relations, journalism or equivalent combination of experience [Required]
- Experience working in a traditional newsroom or online news organization [Preferred]
- Experienced in brand journalism strategies [Preferred]
Skills
- Deep understanding of the traditional media and trends in social media [Required]
- Strong storyteller with experience communicating to multiple audiences via multimedia and new media [Required]
- Holds strong relationships with local and national media [Required]
- Understands newsroom (TV, print, online, radio) operations [Required]
- Strong organizational skills and experience in a high-volume, fast-paced organization [Required]
- Ability to provide media and public speaking coaching to executives, physicians and team members [Required]
- Superb writing, copy editing and public speaking skills [Required]
- Proficiency in AP Style [Required]
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]
- Effective computer skills, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel [Required]
- Proficiency with editing software/apps [Preferred]

$83,699.48 - $155,693.55
