About the role

• Gain practical experience from day one with mentorship from experienced audiologists in comprehensive evaluations, patient engagement, and solution-oriented education.
• Opportunities for pediatric and vestibular testing may be available at some clinics.
• Connect virtually with externs nationwide to build a supportive network, enhancing clinical skills and operational insights.
• Participate in monthly manufacturer-led workshops and one-on-one training for continuous learning and development.
• Many externs transition to full-time roles, as HearingLife prioritizes internal promotions.
• Engage in community-driven initiatives and volunteer opportunities.
• Work with cutting-edge hearing technology from leading manufacturers, including computer-based audiometers, real ear verification, and test box measures.

Responsibilities

• Learn and ask questions under the guidance of your preceptor.
• Document appointments thoroughly.
• Assist with hearing aid lead selection, fitting, follow-up, and service appointments.
• Perform earmold impressions and order/manage hearing aids.
• Conduct follow-up calls with patients.
• Participate in clinic and company meetings.
• Contribute to any tasks that benefit your clinic’s operations.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in an AuD (Doctor of Audiology) program.
