Position Summary
The University of Idaho Extension Eastern District seeks a 12-month, tenure-track Extension Educator with the rank of Assistant Professor for Bear Lake County. They will lead livestock (50%), agriculture (30%), and 4-H Youth Development (20%) programs, collaborating with county partners, commissioners, and community organizations to meet local needs and align with University and Extension priorities. The position includes conducting scholarly work (5%) and contributing to University leadership and service, including county chair duties.
Minimum Education/Degree Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in animal science, agricultural science, Extension education, or a closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work well in a team and provide effective instruction, support, and marketing for programs.
- Previous experience working in Extension.
- Experience in disseminating results through scholarly outlets.
- Experience with supervising, leading, and mentoring others.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Work a flexible schedule, including some weekends.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move 50 lbs.
