About the role

The Extended School Year (ESY) Related Services Providers Department of Special Education at Framingham Public Schools is seeking qualified professionals to provide high-level clinical leadership and therapeutic expertise. These roles are integral to enhancing the educational experience by designing and executing targeted interventions and treatment plans tailored to the unique developmental, behavioral, and academic needs of all learners.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the effective delivery of specialized support services for the district's students.
  • Create therapeutic environments conducive to growth.
  • Define clear progress objectives and supervise the purposeful delegation of supportive tasks to assistants and program staff.
  • Contribute to the district's mission of empowering free-thinking, responsible citizens through diversity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts professional license or DESE certification in the relevant area of expertise.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in the applicable field of study, with a Master’s degree or higher preferred for clinical roles.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a provider in an educational, clinical, or community-based setting.
  • Extensive experience working with special education students and/or children with Autism, PDD, or other neurological disorders.
  • Experience in designing therapeutic interventions, developing treatment plans, or modifying curriculum to meet individual student needs.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.

  • Relationship Building & Cultural Proficiency: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, caregivers, staff, and the community; work with individuals and families of diverse backgrounds in an equitable, inclusive, and culturally proficient manner.
  • Professionalism, Attendance & Adaptability: Maintain regular and punctual attendance to ensure consistent department operations and district-wide support; react professionally and objectively to unpredictable situations, such as behavioral issues or environmental changes, while maintaining a proactive, reflective, and solution-focused approach.
  • Organizational Management: Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining strong organizational skills to balance the demands of a multi-tasking position.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality: Perform duties with awareness of district requirements, state and federal laws, and Framingham Public Schools policies; maintain appropriate confidential records in accordance with FERPA/603 CMR 28.00.
  • Instructional Leadership: Apply knowledge of current research and theory in education; demonstrate strong teaching, coaching, and leadership skills in a team setting.
  • Technology: Operate and acquire skills in computer software, including Google Workspace, and use instructional technology appropriately to facilitate learning.

Skills
