Extended Day Care Assistant, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Seattle

About the role

The Extended Care (EDC) Assistant will support our Extended Day care program for K-8 students, fostering growth, exploration, and collaboration in a joyful, enriching environment outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Extended Day Care Director to implement the mission of the Parish and School, participating in and evaluating OLG school's goals and objectives as a member of the school staff.
• Work in small groups, one-on-one, and occasionally whole group to support the diverse needs of learners.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance with minimal absences and strong communication.
• Manage conflicts between students, working toward resolutions and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Must fully pass a background check and Virtus Safe Environment training.
• CPR/First Aid certification and DCYF background check preferred.
• Experience working with school-aged children in a multi-age setting.
• Collaborative, flexible, reliable, and dependable with the confidence to work independently.
• Preference given to practicing Catholics.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:45–5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 2:00–5:00 PM
• Additional hours on non-school days and half-days (~2–3 hours per day).
• No more than 19.5 hours per week.

Pay

Hourly rate: $22–$24.00 per hour, varied by experience. Salary is determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
