About the role

Export Squash Brownrigg brand – delivering the freshness and flavour of New Zealand. The Brownrigg Agriculture family business started growing squash in 1988 and has become the largest grower in New Zealand, planting over 1,500ha to produce in excess of 25,000mt annually.

Our squash programme succeeds through innovation, commitment, and passion – with an absolute focus on long-keeping quality squash. Extensive research and development, along with a hands-on approach to monitoring and management systems, are key to our success. We produce predominantly Ebisu types, proven performers that consistently deliver quality and flavour, as well as popular dry types.

We plant on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, where ideal growing conditions allow us to take pride in the careful management of food safety, soil health, and our environment. With investment in the latest technologies, monitoring systems, and transport processes, we produce a healthy crop harvested at the correct time to ensure product shelf-life.

BA owns a dedicated packhouse – a premium quality facility – where we receive, grade, and pack squash for export before shipping to market via the nearby Port of Napier.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the growing, harvesting, and export of high-quality squash.
• Maintain and improve monitoring and management systems for crop production.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, soil health, and environmental standards.
• Manage the grading, packing, and shipping processes at the dedicated packhouse.
• Collaborate with the Squash Team for product inquiries and export logistics.

Requirements

• Experience in agricultural production, preferably in squash or similar crops.
• Knowledge of food safety, soil health, and environmental management practices.
• Familiarity with modern farming technologies and monitoring systems.
• Commitment to innovation and quality in crop production.
• Ability to manage export logistics and packhouse operations.
