Impact Staffing International (ISI) is seeking an Export Logistics Planner to join our client's Supply Chain & Logistics team. This is a direct-hire, on-site opportunity in Irving, TX.
About the role
Coordinate international bulk container transportation, optimize freight movement, and ensure timely delivery to plants and customers worldwide. Partner closely with internal account managers, carriers, vendors, and customers to drive operational excellence while supporting the company's logistics and export initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage international export container transportation to plants and customer locations.
- Optimize transportation routes while balancing customer service expectations and freight costs.
- Communicate shipment schedules and provide updates to customers throughout the export process.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain relationships with freight vendors and ocean carriers.
- Negotiate transportation and ocean freight rates, as well as demurrage and detention charges.
- Audit freight invoices, monitor accessorial charges, and maintain carrier rate tables.
- Prepare cargo insurance documentation and manage related claims.
- Analyze transportation costs and logistics performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all shipping documentation, reports, and compliance requirements are completed accurately.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve service issues and support customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in an Export Supply Chain, International Logistics, or Transportation environment.
- Experience coordinating international freight, ocean shipments, and container logistics.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience negotiating freight rates with carriers and transportation vendors.
- Knowledge of cargo insurance, freight claims, demurrage, and detention processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, on-site in Irving, TX. Occasional travel required.
