Job Summary
The position involves mine geology and/or exploration duties under the direction of the Exploration Manager. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
Essential Functions
- Geologic/structural mapping and sampling
- QA/QC tracking and validation
- Field supervision of drilling/sampling programs
- Logging drill core and cuttings
- Geologic/structural modelling and interpretation
- Writing periodic reports
- Slope monitoring
- Data entry and database management
- Performs work assignments in a timely manner
- Represents the company with contractors
- Manages the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility
- Complies with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct
Qualifications And Skill Requirements
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
- General understanding of mining operations, milling, and maintenance operations
- Proficient PC user utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Ability to work independently, but also as a member of the management team
- Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational, and technical writing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in geologic sciences is required
- Knowledgeable in geologic skills, such as mineralization environments, rock and alteration characterization, geologic and structural mapping
- Experience working on low sulphidation epithermal deposits and in volcanic terranes preferred
- General understanding of drilling techniques and equipment
- General understanding of geochemistry applied to exploration
- Entry level or one to three years of experience in mine and/or exploration geology
- Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis
- Requires valid driver’s license
