Exploration Geologist

About the job

Coeur Rochester, a subsidiary of Coeur Mining, Inc., is seeking an Exploration Geologist for its open pit Rochester Silver-Gold Mine, located northeast of Lovelock, Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Support exploration programs – infill and expansion drilling, logging and mapping at project areas.
• Aid with QA/QC protocols, data management and geologic model construction.
• Map mine benches in support of geological modeling.
• Maintain exploration geological, drilling, and permitting maps.
• Log Reverse Circulation drill chips or Diamond Drill core and help maintain data in acQuire database.
• Contribute to the planning of the exploration programs and target generation.
• Perform strenuous physical activities and be able to lift multiple 40 lb. samples on a daily basis.
• Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with Company’s safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in geology or equivalent earth sciences degree.
• Minimum 3 years of mining/exploration industry experience. Recent graduate with internship/hands on experience to be considered.
• Academic or working background in structural geology and epithermal Au-Ag systems.
• Experience in geologic mapping, sampling, logging, and geologic interpretation.
• Familiar with database software - acQuire experience preferred.
• Familiar with GIS software – ArcGIS experience preferred.
• Familiar with Geologic Modeling software – Vulcan and/or Leapfrog experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, presentation and communications skills.
• Ability to work in multiple-task environment and properly assign priorities.
• Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support organization's priorities and preferences.

Additional Information

• This role will require an interchangeable schedule of either 8 days on, 6 days off, or 4 days on, 3 days off.
