Expierenced Box Truck Driver

About the role

Responsible for delivering products from Central Bakery to store locations. Includes loading and unloading trucks, picking up returns to be brought to Central Bakery, and occasional deliveries outside of standard store routes. Maintains basic truck maintenance and performs daily inspections per DOT regulations, recording details in a logbook.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products from Central Bakery to store locations
• Load and unload trucks
• Pick up returns and transport to Central Bakery
• Perform basic truck maintenance
• Conduct daily truck inspections and log entries per DOT regulations
• Operate pallet jacks (power and manual)
• Assist with stock and maintenance at Central Bakery as needed
• Work in other areas occasionally as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Driving experience required
• “For Hire” license is required
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to drive a large box truck
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Ability to plan and organize own workday

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push/pull large stacks of product
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Requires bending, stretching, and good eye/hand coordination
• Ability to work with deadlines and follow instructions
• Ability to remember routes and schedules

Environmental Conditions

• Varies with change of seasons (hot/cold indoor/outdoor temperatures)
• Exposure to chemicals used in truck maintenance (oil, DEF fluid, other additives, cleaners)

Pay

Starting wage: $22.00 per hour

Schedule

• Start time: 2:00 AM or 2:30 AM
• Flexible schedule with weekends and holidays as needed
