Expert Contributor - Wholesale Trade (Task-Based)

About the Role

Snorkel AI is a data development company spun out of the Stanford AI Lab, focused on improving the truthfulness and reasoning abilities of advanced AI systems. This ongoing project-based opportunity allows expert contributors to help shape the next generation of AI models by designing challenging tasks, stress-testing AI agents, and providing expert feedback that steers model behavior toward ideal solutions. No prior AI experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and solve challenging, real-world reasoning tasks that test the limits of advanced AI systems.
• Create high-quality wholesale trade problems drawn from live selling, sourcing, or distribution work.
• Develop rigorous, fully worked solutions and help identify where models fail in commercial and technical reasoning.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated solutions, identifying subtle errors in cost comparisons, technical product claims, or sourcing assumptions.
• Suggest more rigorous approaches and evaluate competing solution paths across multiple turns of a conversation.

Qualifications

• Deep fluency in Wholesale Trade practice, with the ability to create realistic, multi-step problems.
• Several years of hands-on experience in the Wholesale Trade sector as a sales representative, buyer, or manager.
• Background in one or more of: wholesale and manufacturing sales of technical and scientific products, sales engineering, wholesale and retail buying (excluding farm products), purchasing, supply chain management, or transportation, storage, and distribution management.
• Strong review instincts to identify errors and suggest improvements in cost comparisons, technical claims, or sourcing assumptions.
• Bonus: Familiarity with total-cost-of-ownership and switching-cost analysis, vendor and contract negotiation, technical proposals and product specifications, or building cost comparisons directly from invoices and usage records.

Schedule

• Remote 1099 contractor position (must be eligible).
• Work independently from anywhere, with no fixed hours commitment.
• Part-time, project-based engagements on an as-needed basis for those who meet all qualifications.

Residency Restriction: Cannot reside in California.

Pay

Snorkel pays per accepted task rather than an hourly rate. Accepted task payments for this role are up to $250 per completed task. The pay structure rewards expertise, allowing higher productivity and better quality to earn more. You will always earn at least $15 per hour for work performed but have the opportunity to earn more.
