This is a full-time, hybrid direct-hire role located in Portland, OR.

About the role

Our client, a global experience design agency, specializes in creating immersive brand experiences that blend physical environments, digital storytelling, and interactive technology. The team partners with leading organizations to translate complex business goals into clear experience strategies that guide design across spatial, brand, and digital touchpoints. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys facilitating discovery and workshops, and can turn complex inputs into a clear strategic “north star” for multidisciplinary teams.

Job Description

  • Help define the strategic vision behind immersive experiences, uncovering the core story, audience needs, and business goals that shape design direction.
  • Partner with client teams and internal stakeholders to lead discovery, facilitate workshops, develop journey maps and creative briefs, and provide the narrative framework that aligns teams and guides design.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations, support pitches and proposals, and help shape long-term client relationships.
  • Contribute to strategy best practices, maintain continuity across projects, and support the team as it develops scalable approaches for global experience work.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 7+ years of experience in experience design, consulting, agency, or in-house strategy work.
  • Strong background in facilitating workshops, leading discovery, synthesizing insights, and shaping creative briefs or experience frameworks.
  • Passion for storytelling, systems thinking, and human-centered design with a strong foundation in strategy and facilitation.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace, with strong diagramming, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiar with user journeys, personas, experience mapping, and interdisciplinary projects across physical and digital environments.
  • Skilled in collaborating with creative directors, design leads, account teams, clients, and project managers.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and translating complexity into clear, actionable direction.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Background in experience strategy, brand strategy, creative strategy, service design, UX strategy, consulting, or related disciplines.
