Experienced Yard Jockey w/Class A CDL

Position Overview

C&S Wholesale Grocers seeks to establish the safest, most efficient, and customer-focused fleet in the nation. As a Yard Jockey with a Class A CDL license, you will begin your career with the company, learning from a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) who will guide you through the C&S Way. Upon successful completion of the new hire training program, you will manage yard moves safely, efficiently, and promptly.

Job Description

Pay Rate: $25/hour
Benefits: Day 1!
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 4pm-4am
Description:
Drive a jockey wagon to move trailers, as directed, around the distribution center yard.
Moves may include: placing and/or pulling trailers from warehouse dock doors, repositioning trailers to proper pads within the yard, bringing trailers to and through the wash bay, checking and logging trailer temperature, completing yard inventory, cleaning, fueling, and inspecting the vehicle you are driving and the trailers you are moving.
Operate propane fueling equipment (location specific)
Travel Required: No
Environment: Warehouse (Grocery, Freezer, Perishable)

Skills

• Valid Class A CDL and Medical Card
• Experience maneuvering and backing trailers (up to 53') with a jockey wagon
• Experience driving tractor-trailers is preferred
• Physical abilities: occasionally climb up to 4 ft., frequently reach, grip, carry, pivot, push, lift up to 60 lbs., stand and walk on various surfaces, continuously hear, see, and perform repetitive movements using both hands and feet
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Ability to read, write, and speak proficiently
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service
• Able to work to the end of shifts, including necessary overtime, to meet business needs
• Able to assist in other departments based on business needs
• Able to present oneself in a courteous, polite, and professional manner
• Able to work in various temperatures
• Able to pass DOT physical

Qualifications

• General Equivalency Diploma - General Studies, High School Diploma - General Studies
• Years of Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
• High standard of integrity and reliability
