About the Role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security's Air Dominance division is seeking an Experienced Weights & Mass Properties Engineer to join our team at the Hazelwood, MO facility. This role supports next-generation advanced development programs critical to national defense and aerospace innovation. You will lead mass properties estimation, weight tracking, and design trades that directly influence the success of Boeing's future military and aerospace platforms. Work alongside world-class professionals leveraging model-based engineering and digital tools to drive accurate system-level weight management and improve overall vehicle performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate complex weight, balance, and mass properties data to support aerospace vehicle design and performance.
  • Estimate, measure, and verify mass, weight, stiffness, and inertial properties of aerospace components and systems using analytical tools and engineering judgment.
  • Define design requirements and maintain weight and balance accounting systems, generating detailed reports for internal and customer use.
  • Lead weight control efforts and provide expert guidance on vehicle/system configurations impacting mass properties.
  • Collaborate with flight systems engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on customer specifications and program objectives.
  • Innovate and implement process improvements and advanced tools to enhance weight analysis capabilities.
  • Communicate technical information effectively and operate with a focus on safety, quality, and business objectives under general direction.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's, 3+ years with a Master's, or work-related experience with a PhD.
  • 3+ years of Mass Properties experience.
  • Experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g., NX, Catia, CADD).
  • Experience with three-dimensional parametric modeling using NX/Teamcenter or CATIA/ENOVIA methods and tools.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain program access (U.S. Citizenship required).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay

Summary pay range: $112,200 - $151,800. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
