Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportech’s reasonable and good-faith estimate for new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is $25.50 per hour. The $25.50 per hour includes a $22.50 base hourly rate plus a $3.00 per hour shift differential for working 2nd shift. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Job Summary Under limited supervision, this position preforms proficient operations of the Vac Former. Essential Job Functions Advanced knowledge of various machinery specifically the vac former and equipment necessary to produce roofs, doors and other plastic components. Promote “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensures staff are following safety procedures/guidelinesLead by example and in alignment with company core beliefs and valuesFoster an environment of trust, collaboration, accountability and service to our team and communityAbility to troubleshoot vac machine working with assistance from Vac TechnicianPerform set ups to standard and identify opportunities for improvementTrain new employees and temporary staff as neededUnderstand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hourResponsible for monitoring and maintaining high level of quality on all parts manufactured consistent with company standardsRecommend and implement new strategies/process improvements for more efficient and/or cost-effective processes, working closely with the continuous improvement teamDrive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision makingEscalate and take initiative on continuous improvement projectsUnderstand OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and drive vac cell to meeting company goalMay assist in running other CNC machines as neededAbility to accurately enter numbers into Epicor systemConsistent and accurate counts of materials and productsConfirm proper functionality of power/hand tools prior to useIdentify machining issues, report to Vac Technician or Value Stream Team Leader (VSTL) immediately for assistanceMust follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tag outMay assist in completing daily Tier 1 board and conduct meetings as neededAbility to complete the first part approval process for all jobsResponsible for set up operations and performs preventative maintenanceWillingness to move between buildings, shifts and other machines within company to expand knowledgeAbility to run multiple vac machinesAbility to run the 3-axis and 5-axis machinesWork within lean manufacturing guidelinesMaintain a positive work environmentSupport culture and maintain a strong focus on housekeeping and 5s within the cell Requirements High School diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum 2 years machine experience and working knowledge of basic troubleshootingExperience running a vac former preferredExperience in leading small groups preferredAbility to learn production skills and processes usedAbility to safely perform work in varying work conditionsAbility to understand and follow directions using the English languageAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starterAbility to read blue prints and use measurement devices such as calipers and protractorsKnowledge of basic FANUC code Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basisAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull on a continuous and repetitive basisAbility to lift large sheets of plastic, tools and packing materialsAbility to stand for up to 12 hoursExcellent hand/eye coordinationDemonstrated ability to effectively use power toolsGood manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaAbility to consistently wear personal protective equipmentAbility to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels
