Experienced Shift Supervisor

About the role

The primary responsibility of a Shift Supervisor is to oversee and direct the activities of the on-duty Security Officers. This includes ensuring all post orders are followed, completing established rounds, and filing necessary reports. In case of emergencies, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for notifying the appropriate authorities, clients, and Securitas management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to Security Officers regarding their job requirements, priorities, and any necessary needs of the site.
• Coach and discipline personnel as appropriate, seeking advice from Securitas management or designated representatives when necessary.
• Maintain professionalism and specialize in managing the shift, showing strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and initiative-taking.
• Train Security Officers on the functions of their positions, review site post orders, and other details of their roles.
• Ensure adequate coverage of all posts and positions while on duty, preparing, filing, and submitting various reports as needed.
• Inspect posts and meet with on-duty Security Officers to ensure tasks and responsibilities are being completed.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including training employees, assigning tasks during shifts, directing work, coaching, addressing issues, and resolving problems.
• Perform supervisory duties that can include training officers and ensuring all policies are adhered to, meeting deadlines, and maintaining above-average communication skills.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma, GED, or completion of the GED program within 6 months.
• Above average computer and technology skills.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Great attention to detail and vigilance throughout the shift.
• Ability to respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment and appropriate escalation.
• Willingness to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• At least 1 year of experience in Security.
• Dependability and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Flexibility with schedule when necessary.
