Experienced Routesetter

About the role

As an Experienced Routesetter, you are someone who has a strong understanding of the fundamentals of routesetting, is passionate about climbing movement and creating meaningful experiences. You are self-driven, reliable, and excited by the prospect of providing an amazing climbing experience to the Edgeworks community. Driven by their passion to create unique movement, we are looking for someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment and has a can-do attitude. The Experienced Routesetter is tasked with mentoring lower level setters, and knows the importance of direct communication. They regularly provide and solicit feedback as a part of a collaborative routesetting team that supports one another’s growth.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and get to work in a timely manner
• Take initiative during “down-time” to organize, clean & keep themselves busy
• Help curate the best possible experience for our community
• Strive to innovate and expand upon what the Routesetting department can do
• Set and/or remove routes 2-5 times per week
• Experiment with different setting styles, innovating and co-creating with the rest of the team while being mindful of the varying needs of a wide range of types of climbers in the community
• Take an active part in generating new ideas about how the Routesetting Department can differentiate itself and develop the Edgeworks Setting Brand
• Follow best practices for work area safety and follow all risk management protocols
