Position Title: Experienced RN Diabetes/Endo Educator
About the Role
The Children's Endocrinology/Diabetes Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position offers full-time (40 hours/week) opportunities in Level I or II roles, depending on experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Works under general supervision, providing high-quality care in an ambulatory setting to patients with diabetes and endocrinology issues.
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
- Aids physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and administers medication as prescribed.
- Maintains intravenous infusions and blood products, and ensures patient safety and competency in care delivery.
- Resolves patient complaints promptly and collaboratively with support staff.
- Informs patients and families about clinic and unit procedures, and develops care plans for discharge.
- Makes referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Fosters a growth mindset through mentorship, coaching, and professional certification maintenance.
- Develops a professional career plan and establishes personal performance goals aligned with organizational metrics.
- Fosters an inclusive workforce where individual differences are valued and utilized to achieve the organization's vision and mission.
- Delegates tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse for RN I, or 3+ years for RN II.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)), Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
- Specialty Certification(s): Preferred for RN II.

- Knowledge: Basic professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Skills: Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services; skilled in computer applications; strong written and oral communication skills.
- Abilities: Ability to maintain civility and good working relationships; ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs; ability to establish and maintain integrity and trust with patients; ability to engage and manage conflicts constructively; ability to comply with regulatory standards; ability to foster an inclusive workplace.
