About the role
Do you love helping preschoolers become confident, independent learners? Are you passionate about creating a classroom where children explore, ask questions, solve problems, and build the skills they'll need for kindergarten and beyond? We're looking for an experienced Pre-K Teacher to join our collaborative early childhood team.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote literacy, math, science, art, and social-emotional development.
- Foster children's independence, problem-solving, creativity, and confidence.
- Observe and document children's learning to guide curriculum planning.
- Create strong partnerships with families through regular communication.
- Lead the MJP graduating class and support the children and families in this monumental milestone.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create meaningful learning experiences across the school.
- Participate in professional learning and continuously refine your teaching practice.
Requirements
- Experience teaching preschool or Pre-K children.
- Understands child development and kindergarten readiness.
- Values play as the foundation for meaningful learning.
- Builds strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Creates engaging classroom environments where children are encouraged to explore, collaborate, and think critically.
- Is organized, reflective, and excited to continue growing as an educator.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching preschool or Pre-K children.
- Certified Early Childhood Educator.
- CDA candidate with classroom experience.
- Career changers with relevant early childhood education experience.
- A passion for teaching young children and a commitment to professional growth.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Knowledge of child development and educational theories.
- Experience with emergent curriculum and play-based learning.
