Experienced Plantscape Non Canabis Horticultural Training Manager

About the role
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. The Horticultural Manager will collaborate closely with our Senior Plantscape team to focus on training, continuing education, and reinforced technique for our Plantscape Associates. You will grow and develop our Plantscape Tech teams to execute installations, optimize care practices, recognize overall plant health, and develop an aesthetic eye to ensure installations always look clean, healthy, and polished.
Day-to-day responsibilities include office, administrative, and on-site plant care work with individual teams to perform training, evaluate accounts, and assist with elevating project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise horticultural staff
- Coordinate schedules and workflows
- Train, host, and lead plant care sessions
- Develop continuing education modules and testing programs to ensure superior knowledge and engagement
- Ensure designs meet client specifications and quality standards
- Perform on-site training and evaluation of accounts
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in horticulture, including plant care, soil and irrigation management, and pest and disease identification and organic pest management techniques
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills, with experience leading teams, delegating tasks, and managing schedules
- Ability to manage project timelines and budgets, coordinate logistics, and maintain accurate inventory and records
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, designers, vendors, and internal team members
- Comfort with physically demanding on-site work, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in varied indoor and outdoor environments
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally responsible horticultural practices is highly beneficial
- Relevant education or training in horticulture, botany, landscape design, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered
- Experience in event production, hospitality, or high-end residential/commercial installations is a plus
