Experienced Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant (Registry)

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and capillary collection competently and expediently with as little discomfort to patient as possible.
• Services all duty locations according to the laboratory’s needs, or any site indicated by the Laboratory Manager.
• Has thorough knowledge of test requirements, specimen processing, archival, and limited waived point of care testing.
• Serves as a receptionist for the Laboratory, greeting, assisting, and providing patient/family education.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or Medical Secretary Certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
• Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
