Exempt, full-time (40 hours/week) position.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. No on-call duty.
Responsibilities
- Performs physical assessments of patients in an outpatient setting, reviews medical history, and interprets diagnostic tests/results to provide effective treatment.
- Conducts preventive health screenings based on patient age, history, and unique needs.
- Educates patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Maintains accurate records of all patient care across primary care offices.
- Performs medical procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines and clinical roles within outpatient care settings.
- Identifies opportunities to improve outpatient care by assessing, problem-solving, and evaluating clinical and system issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies (Bachelor’s degree accepted for Physician Assistants employed at Cone Health prior to October 14, 2024, provided they maintain employment and PA licensure with Board Certification).
- 1+ years of experience as a provider required; 3+ years preferred.
- Valid NC RN and Nurse Midwife or NP license, or NC PA license.
- Board certification within 1 year of hire by:
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs, or
- American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC), National Certification Corporation (NCC), American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) for NPs.
- BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) certification required for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers.
- IVC certification within 90 days of employment for Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Providers.
- Current, unrestricted DEA registration in accordance with federal and state regulations.
