About the role

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company, providing a unique range of analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries, to make life and our environment safer, healthier and more sustainable. The Mold Analyst performs analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi, validates and reviews data for accuracy, and uploads laboratory data into the LIMS and reports to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal, asbestos, and bacteria analysis.
  • Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
  • Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work.
  • Perform analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed.
  • Perform confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnel.
  • Perform and complete all analytical testing QA-related tasks as needed.
  • Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
  • Maintain and update all necessary Training and QA documents onsite as required.
  • Coordinate and manage projects according to their rush status and due time for timely delivery.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.
  • Schedule sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times.
  • Operate job-specific laboratory testing equipment with discretion and judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Geology, or a closely related science.
  • 1-2 years of laboratory work experience involving mold and/or asbestos microscopy analysis.
  • 8 units of Microbiology courses.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 1st shift.
