About the Role
The Mold Analyst performs analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi. The analyst validates and reviews data for accuracy, uploads laboratory data into the LIMS, and reports to clients. Schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times and must be knowledgeable of job-specific laboratory testing equipment, requiring discretion and judgment in its operation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal, asbestos, and bacteria analysis.
- Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
- Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work.
- Perform analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed.
- Perform confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnel.
- Complete all analytical testing QA-related tasks as needed.
- Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
- Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite as required.
- Coordinate and manage projects according to their rush status and due time for timely delivery.
- Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Geology, or a closely related science.
- 1–2 years of laboratory work experience involving mold and/or asbestos microscopy analysis.
- 8 units of Microbiology courses.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Schedule
This is a full-time position on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday.
Pay
Pay range depends on experience level. Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes; the actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
