Experienced MIG Welder
About the role
TANDEMLOC, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled MIG Welder to join our elite team. We are looking for a welder who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and consistently produces high-quality GMAW/MIG welds, including 1+ fillet and bevel welds, with precision, structural integrity, and safety at the forefront. You will lay out, position, fabricate, and secure parts/assemblies according to specifications or technical drawings, using tools such as straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and measuring tapes. The role involves performing multi-pass welding (3/8-1/2 common) on assemblies using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) and removing nonconforming areas with portable hand grinders or die grinders. All work must be performed safely and in adherence to Tandemloc, State, and Federal guidelines, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE). This position reports directly to the Welding Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, position, fabricate, and secure parts/assemblies according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform multi-pass GMAW/MIG welding (3/8-1/2 common) on assemblies.
- Remove nonconforming areas using portable hand grinders or die grinders.
- Adhere to all safety and production policies and procedures, including the use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, weld helmets, and skin protection.
- Work in a safe manner to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Tandemloc, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Read and interpret prints and use measuring devices (e.g., calipers, tape measures, steel rulers).
- Perform multi-pass stacked welds that meet quality and safety standards.
- Communicate counts, statuses, and needs clearly and concisely.
- Follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks and maintain focus in a loud, fast-paced, and physically demanding environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a welder (or completion of a 2-year welding certificate or diploma program).
- High School Diploma or GED; welding certificate program preferred.
- 2-year Welding Certificate or Diploma.
- Ability to pass a Tandemloc Welder Certification Test per company policies.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read prints and use measuring devices (e.g., calipers, tape measures, steel rulers).
- Ability to perform multi-pass stacked welds that meet quality and safety standards.
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, lift, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a non-environmentally controlled setting with exposure to noise, dust, heat, fumes, or dirt.
- Must be able to wear protective clothing, earplugs, safety glasses, respirators, and other PPE as required.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision and follow instructions accurately.

Pay
$23.00 - $27.00/hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
Mon-Thurs, 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Four 10-hour days), with overtime as required.
All positions are on-site in Havelock, NC.
