About the role
Experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse - Full Time Nights at St. Peter's Hospital. St. Peter's provides comprehensive Maternal/Child services, delivering over 2700 babies a year. The program supports the largest number of deliveries in the Capital region, many of which are high-risk pregnancies and multiple births. The family centered team you will work with includes physicians, licensed nurse midwives, dedicated perinatal nurses, social work and spiritual care services, skilled techs, and lactation consultants. You will have the opportunity to work with mother and baby as a family unit. At St. Peter's, we recognize that nursing is one of the most challenging careers and the most rewarding. Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of each patient to which he or she is assigned.
- Plan the nursing care needed to meet those needs, including spiritual, emotional and physiological needs.
- Ensure that the plan of care is carried out through performance and/or leadership of supervised personnel.
- Evaluate the plan of care.
- Be directly accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care delivered.
- Modify and deliver care that is specific to the age, growth and development of patients according to the unit scope of services.
- When serving in the charge role, be responsible for clinical and leadership functions.
Requirements
- Current NYS RN license.
- One year of Med Surg or Maternity experience.
