Experienced Equipment Mechanic
About Us
PDQuipment serves cities all over the country for equipment needs related to material spraying. We supply tarps, parts, pumps, service, and more to get the job done. We have fireproofing pumps, concrete pumps, plaster pumps, and stucco pumps for sale along with all the parts to service them.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on mechanic to join our Oregon service shop. This is a full-time, year-round position for someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, taking equipment apart, making repairs, and getting machines back into service. You do not need experience with our specific equipment or to be a certified diesel mechanic. If you have experience repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, hydraulic equipment, or industrial machinery, we can provide the specialized training.
Responsibilities
- Hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, hoses, and fittings
- Bearings, seals, and other wear components
- Mechanical assemblies and larger component replacement
- Engines and engine-mounted components
- Electrical components, switches, and wiring
- Preventive maintenance, fluids, filters, and inspections
- Hydraulic pressure and flow troubleshooting
- Diagnosing mechanical and equipment failures
- Testing equipment after repairs
Requirements
We're looking for someone with the mechanical foundation and troubleshooting ability. You may be a good fit if you have experience with:
- Heavy or construction equipment
- Hydraulic equipment
- Industrial machinery
- Equipment repair and maintenance
- Mechanical troubleshooting and component replacement
We're especially interested in someone who can work independently through a repair: inspect the machine, identify the problem, determine the repair needed, complete the work, and verify the equipment is operating properly.
What You Don't Need:
- Previous concrete equipment experience
- Diesel mechanic certification
- Experience rebuilding diesel engines
- Experience with every machine or manufacturer we sell
Major engine work can be sent to outside specialists. We're hiring an equipment mechanic, not an engine rebuilding specialist.
Training & Support
We provide equipment-specific training and ongoing technical support. Training may include:
- Hands-on training with our existing technicians
- Collaboration with mechanics at our other service locations
- Direct manufacturer technical support
- Manufacturer training opportunities
- Paid travel for specialized training, including opportunities in California, Minnesota, Texas, and Washington
You'll have people to call when you encounter something unfamiliar, including access to a larger service team and manufacturer support.
Pay
$35.00 - $60.00 per hour
Starting compensation is based on mechanical experience, hydraulic knowledge, troubleshooting ability, and your ability to independently complete repairs. Highly experienced technicians who can take ownership of the shop, independently diagnose and complete repairs, and consistently produce quality billable work have additional earning potential. Productivity-based incentives are also available in addition to base hourly compensation.

- 401(k) matching
- Bonus based on performance
- Free uniforms
- Health insurance
- Opportunity for advancement
- Paid time off
- Training & development
