Experienced Engineer
About the role
SRNS is seeking to hire experienced engineers to work within SRS facilities. Engineers may be assigned to one of the following specific facility operations and have discipline-specific ownership and maintenance of the following types of systems among others:
- Nuclear Chemical and Industrial Unit Operations
- Industrial Mechanical systems (Nuclear and Non-nuclear HVAC, Rotating Equipment)
- Instrumentation and Control Systems
- Utilities (Power Distribution, Steam, Water Compressed Gases)
- Civil/Structural (Buildings, Roads, Bridges, Dams)
- Fire Protection Systems
Responsibilities
Engineers may be assigned to one of the following specific facility operations and have discipline-specific ownership and maintenance of the following types of systems among others:
- Nuclear Chemical and Industrial Unit Operations
- Industrial Mechanical systems (Nuclear and Non-nuclear HVAC, Rotating Equipment)
- Instrumentation and Control Systems
- Utilities (Power Distribution, Steam, Water Compressed Gases)
- Civil/Structural (Buildings, Roads, Bridges, Dams)
- Fire Protection Systems
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problems within Federal nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
- Work directly with operations and maintenance personnel to maintain system operability.
- System Configuration Control to include minor design development, component replacement, facility walkdowns, drawing reviews/updates, procedure development/review/approval, preventive maintenance identification.
- Usage of Federal/National Codes and Standards.
- Work package/system maintenance review and approval.
- Work with Design or Project Management organizations on large scale designs and projects.
Requirements
- P3: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field.
- P4: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or relevant field plus at least ten years of experience (YOE), OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least eight years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field.
- P5: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or relevant field plus at least fifteen years of experience (YOE), OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least twelve years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in applicable science or engineering discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline's standard theories, concepts, principles and techniques.
- Working knowledge of pertinent engineering practices and applications.
Skills
- Specialized expertise in field/discipline acquired through significant years of experience.
- Leading others to solve complex problems, working independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.
- Leading functional teams or projects.
