Join our rapidly growing team at Carvana, where we're revolutionizing the car buying experience. We're seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Technician to join our innovative Fleet Maintenance team focused on Class 8 trucks and trailers.

About the role

As a Diesel Technician, you'll ensure our Class 8 fleet (primarily day cabs and trailers under manufacturer warranty) remains safe and reliable. This role involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs with clear pathways for growth—no major engine overhauls or roadside calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
• Repair aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regens, and change filters.
• Maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime through team collaboration.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure DOT compliance.
• Perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance (lifting, bending, etc.).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection trucks).
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
• Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Comfort with MIG welding (a plus).
• Minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (reimbursed by Carvana). T-series ASE Certifications are highly valued.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality workmanship, and a solid attendance record.
