About the role
We are seeking an experienced RN/LPN to lead our secure Memory Care/Dementia Unit at Morris View Healthcare Center in Morristown, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the unit, including staffing, care planning, and resident care
- Lead clinical rounds and provide direct care to residents as needed
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents with dementia
- Monitor and manage psychotropic medications and ensure proper documentation
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent falls and other injuries
- Provide supervision and training to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with families regarding resident care and progress
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and requirements
Requirements
- Current RN/LPN license in New Jersey
- Dementia Care Certification (CDP or equivalent) required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Unit Manager/Nurse Manager in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience caring for residents with dementia and behavioral health needs in a secured memory care environment
- Strong knowledge of dementia-specific interventions, behavior management, fall prevention, psychotropic medication monitoring, and regulatory compliance
- Proven leadership experience supervising nursing staff, conducting clinical rounds, managing admissions, care plans, quality measures, and family communication
