About the role
Walton & Company is seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join our growing service team. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience, enjoy solving complex mechanical problems, and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC systems
- Service rooftop units, split systems, boilers, pumps, VAV systems, VRF systems, and refrigeration equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical system issues
- Perform equipment start-ups, commissioning, and major component replacements
- Recover, evacuate, and charge refrigerant systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Troubleshoot DDC controls and building automation systems
- Complete electronic service reports and work orders using tablets and mobile devices
- Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
- Participate in the scheduled on-call rotation
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Maryland HVACR License (or ability to obtain within 90 days, if required)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience servicing:
- Commercial rooftop units
- Boilers and gas heating systems
- VAV systems
- Water-source heat pumps
- VRF systems (preferred)
- Refrigeration systems
- DDC and Building Automation Systems

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning
