Experienced Commercial Carpenter

About the role

Van Buskirk Companies is seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our Construction team in Sioux Falls, SD. We are looking for a skilled carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys working on a team, and has experience in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Plan and organize daily work activities.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry on commercial construction projects.
• Install doors, frames, hardware, casework, trim, blocking, and other finish carpentry components.
• Assist with framing, demolition, project preparation, and jobsite organization.
• Identify and help resolve construction issues in the field.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Take pride in producing quality work that meets company and customer expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Experience with rough and finish commercial carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and safety practices.
• Basic understanding of construction mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and skid steers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
