About the role

Join our Water Resources team at Olsson, a leading engineering firm. The Water Resources team offers clients a full spectrum of water services, including planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. This position assists with generating ideas and creating designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to engineering and design needs. We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in working a hybrid schedule out of our Overland Park, KS or Springfield, MO office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks, immersing you in practical experience and exposure to diverse engineering facets, methods, and programs
  • Execute precise technical engineering calculations
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for floodplain modeling and mapping
  • Engage in design and management tasks for stormwater projects, including channel stabilization/restoration, storm drain systems, culverts, and water quality features
  • Coordinate with project managers and project teams to achieve project objectives
  • Innovate and introduce new ideas to projects, showcasing your creativity and initiative

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field of study
  • Must possess Engineer Intern (EI) or (IE) certificate
  • Minimum of two years of experience
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and HEC-RAS modeling software
