What you will be doing as an Avionics Technician
In this role, you can expect to perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of avionics systems on board aircraft at a Textron Aviation Service Center. Responsibilities
- Functional Testing: Isolate and repair avionics system issues based on customer complaints, following FAA procedures
- Problem Diagnosis: Analyze in-flight data and customer feedback to diagnose and correct issues
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve defects in units or wiring discrepancies
- Component Replacement: Replace defective units, repair wiring, and modify aircraft as needed
- Flight Testing: Accompany pilots to conduct functional tests on repaired or aligned systems as needed
- Instruction Compliance: Perform duties based on aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, and both oral and written instructions
Requirements
- A high school diploma or a GED is required
- A minimum 3 years experience in aircraft avionics system troubleshooting and repair is required
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification is helpful
- Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable, is required
