Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and performs repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles.
  • Prioritizes and plans work flow with shop foreman to meet demands and customer needs.
  • Covers coordination with Part Department to ensure parts are available to complete repairs.
  • Completes service and repair assignments correctly to pass quality inspections or test drives.
  • Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor so the customer may be notified.
  • Aids Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer.
  • Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area.
  • Mets or exceeds productivity and quality goals.
  • Obtains and maintains Ford Technician certifications
  • Along with transmission related issues you may also do other types of repairs and maintenance depending on work demand.

Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years experience as a Automotive Service Technician.
  • At least 1+ years of automotive transmission repair and maintenance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in the use of common mechanic shop tools, equipment and computer software.
  • Must be a “team player”
  • Must be reliable and on time

  • Ability to learn from veteran staff and foreman
  • Outstanding ability to work with a team and take direction
  • Ability and willingness to adopt modern technology and take on additional duties
  • Use of your cell phone to share photos and videos of recommended repairs with various applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of basic computer and phone systems
  • Ability to bend, move, lift and physically perform duties in the scope of this position.

Good to Know Before You Start!

  • Team players only! You will work with multiple departments and many different people.
  • Know your work makes a difference! All systems rely on accurate information and repairs and that starts and finishes with you.
  • You will have support! We have a senior master certified former technician as a shop foreman, his job is to help you succeed!
  • Must be adaptive to and embrace change.
  • Physical work is necessary. Safety is #1 so utilize the equipment that puts the least amount of stress on your body. If we don’t have it, let the foreman know so we can get it for you.
