About the role
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems, ensuring our customers' vehicles are always in top condition.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, air conditioning, and electrical systems.
- Complete scheduled maintenance and factory recalls, ensuring all necessary updates and repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Document all services performed and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
- Communicate findings clearly to service advisors, advise on additional necessary repairs or maintenance, and ensure complete transparency with the customer's vehicle issues and solutions.
- Work collaboratively with fellow technicians, parts team members, and service advisors to ensure a smooth and seamless workflow.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs.
- Share your knowledge with junior technicians to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician in a dealership or reputable independent shop.
- Foundation knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, brakes, and tires.
- Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models is a plus.
- ASE certifications are highly preferred, with a focus on areas relevant to your specialization.
- OEM-specific training and certifications are a significant plus.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
- Expertise in using diagnostic software and specialized tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- A clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years.
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- May be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
- Will be required to work overtime and weekends.
- Frequent standing and sitting with varying periods of each.
- May at times require working different shifts.
- Lift up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Walk up to three miles each day.
