We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our dealership team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all vehicle transactions are processed accurately and timely while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process vehicle titles, registrations, and tag applications in accordance with state regulations.
- Verify legal transfer of ownership and ensure all title documents are complete and accurate.
- Submit title work to appropriate state agencies within required time frames.
- Review deals for completeness and accuracy prior to funding and titling.
- Prepare and process title applications for new, used, wholesale, and out-of-state vehicle sales.
- Maintain records for all vehicle inventory, title files, and registration documentation.
- Resolve title issues, discrepancies, and missing documentation with customers, lenders, auctions, and state agencies.
- Process payoff requests and ensure lien releases are obtained and recorded.
- Handle dealer trades and inventory title transfers.
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies and state DMV regulations.
- Assist accounting and sales departments with title-related questions and documentation.
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries regarding registrations, tags, titles, and related paperwork.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of automotive title clerk experience in a dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of DMV regulations, title laws, vehicle registration procedures, and lien processing.
- Experience processing new and used vehicle transactions.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar platforms).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Texas title and registration procedures.
- Knowledge of electronic titling systems.
- Automotive accounting experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
