EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE IMPORT TECHNICIAN

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Import Technician to join our team at Buchanan Kia in Westminster, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining import vehicles with a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining imported vehicles with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnosis, maintenance, and repairs on import vehicles, including Kia models, using up-to-date diagnostic tools and technical resources.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software effectively to identify vehicle issues efficiently.
• Ensure all work meets company, manufacturer, and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with service advisors and other technicians to provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools.
• Stay current with manufacturer training and updates related to automotive technology.
• Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors to provide accurate vehicle repair information.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technical training related to imported vehicles.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an automotive import technician, preferably with Kia or similar brands, or similar role in automotive repair.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of import vehicle systems and manufacturer repair standards.
• ASE certification or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and software effectively; ability to diagnose complex vehicle issues and provide effective solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a team player mindset.
• Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation and clean driving record.
