About the Role

We are currently seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our collision center team as an automotive car buffer in Fond Du Lac. As an integral part of our facility, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflow. If you have a high school diploma, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for automotive aesthetics, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Perform auto body buffing and polishing to restore vehicles' exterior finish to its original luster.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to carefully remove imperfections, scratches, and blemishes from the vehicle's surface.
  • Ensure all surfaces are properly prepared for buffing by cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.
  • Apply appropriate compounds and polishes to achieve a smooth, glossy finish on various types of vehicle surfaces.
  • Inspect and assess the condition of vehicles to determine the extent of buffing required.
  • Match factory paint textures and remove imperfections in painted panels.
  • Collaborate with the team of painters and estimators to ensure timely completion of projects and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to protect yourself, team members, and the vehicles in the work area.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, including the proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Previous experience in auto body buffing or related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address imperfections effectively.
  • Familiarity with various buffing tools, equipment, and products used in automotive refinishing.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work responsibly around hazardous materials.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
