Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. This position requires a combination of technical skills, customer service, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic tests.
• Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), and chemicals as required by the “Safelite Way of Fitting”.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other licenses required by federal, state, and local laws to operate a company vehicle.
• Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting, and operating various hand and power tools safely.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Professional appearance and adherence to company uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
• Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure and comply with company policies and procedures.
